Robert F. Kennedy was assassinated in 1968. He was the brother of President John F. Kennedy. John F. Kennedy was assassinated in 1963. This was while he was President of the USA. Robert Kennedy was running for President when he was killed. His killer is called Sirhan Sirhan. He has been in prison since the assassination. The police caught him right away. Over the years, he has tried to get parole 15 times. He has now been given parole on his 16th try. Two of Robert Kennedy’s children support Sirhan’s release.

However, six of Robert Kennedy’s children do not want Sirhan to get parole. They said that it would be very painful for them. These six said that they are strongly against the decision. They said they will fight to stop Sirhan from being released.

The parole hearing is just the first step for Sirhan Sirhan to be released. The decision will be looked at for 90 days by the California parole board. It will then go to the Governor of California who can say yes or no. The Kennedy children who disagree will be fighting it until then.
