Virtual Reality (VR) is becoming more popular every year. Virtual Reality has been attempted many times over the years but it hasn’t been successful. This changed in the 2010s; new types of virtual reality headsets were released with much better technology than before. These new headsets were much better than anything in the past and they were able to provide much better experiences for users. One of the first companies to create this modern version of VR was Oculus. Oculus is often credited with making the breakthrough in VR technology that has led to its popularity today. Their headsets let people experience a new level of virtual reality. In 2014, Oculus was purchased by Facebook. At the time, many VR users were worried about this. However, Oculus has become more popular than ever since Facebook purchased the company. Most recently, Oculus released the Oculus Quest 2 headset for $350. It provides one of the best VR experiences at a much lower cost than similar headsets which can often be up to $1000.

The Oculus Quest 2 is the most popular VR headset on the market. It is high quality and cheap compared to the competition. This means people who weren’t fans of VR before are more likely to try VR now. The Oculus Quest has made VR accessible to the average person. VR enthusiasts think VR is the future of gaming and many other technological experiences. Users can play a game and actually feel like they are in the world. A VR YouTube video can allow people to visit anywhere in the world from their own home. VR headsets can even be used for virtual meetings. There are many different possibilities for how VR can be used in the future. As VR has grown, so has Oculus; however, people don’t like everything that Facebook has done since they bought the company. Facebook recently started to make users connect their Facebook accounts to their Oculus headsets. This angered many customers because customers now can’t use their headsets without a Facebook account.

Customers became incredibly angry after Facebook’s most recent Oculus announcement. Facebook announced that it will be putting advertisements within the VR games. People are angry because Facebook wants to put ads in games that users have already paid for. Many users think this is unacceptable. They think that if they pay for a game, there shouldn’t be any ads. People are also angry because they don’t want adverts in VR. They think Facebook and other companies already put ads in too many places. Many people don’t want the virtual world to also be filled with them. The anger was so big that the first game company to include ads in their game quickly changed the decision. The CEO said they won’t include ads in their games that cost money. Facebook said it will keep going with its plans even though the first company backed out. However, it won’t be easy to win over VR users who don’t want the future of VR to be filled with ads.
