Some states have done a good job of controlling the virus. Many states have not done enough. Now, the US is having the highest number of new cases almost every day.

The US is now getting more than 40,000 new cases each day. This is because some states opened things too early. They ignored the danger of the virus. People have been trying to act like things are normal. The situation in the US has meant Europe has banned Americans from travelling there.
