There have been protests in the US. The protests started in Minneapolis, Minnesota but they have since spread across the US. There have been protests in every state. People are protesting against the police. This is because a police officer killed a black man while arresting him. He killed him even though the man had not done anything to hurt the police officers. People are angry because this has happened numerous times before.

There is a history of black people being treated badly by the police in the US. These types of protests have happened many times before. People are angry that this keeps happening. They are angry that the police officers normally don’t get punished. This time, people want things to change and they don’t want to stop until it changes. People have had enough of police officers hurting people.

There were three police officers watching when Officer Derek Chauvin killed George Floyd. They didn’t stop him. All of the police officers were fired from their jobs. However, it took one week for Chauvin to be arrested. It took even longer for the other officers to be arrested. People think police officers are not punished in the same way as normal people. They say that if Derek Chauvin was a normal person, he would have been arrested right away. While people waited for the officers to be arrested, the protests got bigger and bigger. It doesn’t seem like they will stop unless there are big changes.
