Captain Marvel is the newest movie from Marvel. Captain Marvel is a new superhero in the Marvel universe. She is the first female superhero to have her own Marvel movie. The movie has been praised with great reviews. It has made over $1bn worldwide. It is only the 38th movie to ever make $1bn worldwide. It is very popular.

However, there was controversy before it released. Some people were upset because Captain Marvel is a woman. They were also upset at Brie Larson, the actress who plays Captain Marvel. They tried to get people to boycott the movie. This is when a small group of people tries to make other people not buy, watch, play or read something. Normally people start a boycott because a product is offensive or bad in some way. This was not the case for the Captain Marvel boycott.

The boycott did not work. Captain Marvel has been the most popular movie in most countries around the world. The total is still climbing every week. It could become one of the top 20 highest grossing films of all time.
