French children cannot bring smartphones to school anymore. A new law has banned them from schools. The law includes tablets too. Lawmakers in France made this rule to protect children. They are afraid of children getting addicted to phones. Also, they want to protect the classroom.

The French education minister said he knows children can have screen addiction. He said it’s the government’s job to protect children. He said this law will help protect them.

There was a new French president in 2017. His name is Emmanuel Macron. Before he was president, students could not use phones during class. He made a pledge to ban them from schools completely.
