A football team and their coach went inside a cave. The cave was in Thailand. There were 12 boys and one coach. The boys were 12-17 years old. The coach was 25. It was one boy’s birthday. They decided to go on a hike to celebrate. They had gone to the cave many times before. This time something bad happened.

Lots of water went inside the cave because of rain. The entrance was blocked by water. The boys and their coach found a safe place in the cave. They had no food. They only had water from the cave walls.

After 9 days, two divers from the UK found them. The divers said they would bring help and food. The families were so happy the boys were alive.

Many, many people made a plan to help. People from all over the world came to help. They thought of many different plans. It was very difficult to get them out. The cave was very dangerous. They needed to get the boys before the rain came again.

Finally, they made a good plan. 3 days later, all the boys and the coach were rescued. They were in the cave for 17 days. People all over the world celebrated.

Diver: A person who swims in very deep water.
