A 12 year old boy from Sydney, Australia ran away from home after an argument with his parents. The boy was angry because his parents had called off a vacation to Bali, Indonesia.

The boy secretly stole his parent’s credit card and bought himself a flight to Bali and a hotel room. He took his passport and school ID with him. When he got to the airport, he used a self-service machine to get his ticket instead of talking to an adult. He easily got on the plane after this. He told the hotel in Bali that he was waiting for his sister so they would give him his room key.

The boy did not attend school and was missing for 9 days. His parents did not know where he was and were frightened. The police found him in Bali and brought him back to Australia.

The boy said, “It was great because I wanted to go on an adventure.”

The police are now investigating what happened. They want to make sure this cannot happen again.
