A 12 year old boy from Australia was angry at his parents. He was angry because his parents cancelled their vacation. Their vacation was to Bali, Indonesia. The boy stole his parent’s credit card. Then, he secretly bought a flight to Bali. He bought a hotel room too.

The boy took his passport and his school ID card. He used a machine to get his ticket at the airport. He did not talk to any adults. Then, he got on the plane.

The boy was missing for 9 days. He did not go to school. His parents didn’t know where he was. They were very scared. The police found him in Bali. They brought him back to Australia.

The boy said he wanted an adventure.

Difficult words

Cancelled: To say something will not happen anymore.

Secretly: To do something that no one knows about.

Passport: A small book that says what country you are from. You need it to go to a new country.

Missing: Something that you had and now can’t find.

Adventure: An exciting and maybe dangerous experience.
