Many cities in Europe are freezing. The UK is calling it “the Beast from the East”. The Dutch are calling it the “Siberian Bear” and Sweden is calling it the “snow cannon”. It has many names.

Some temperatures are as low as -30C. At least 10 people have died. Some of those people were homeless. Shelters have opened with blankets and hot food.

Spain and Italy have snow. Mediterranean islands have snow too. These places usually don’t have snow.

Many roads are closed. Hundreds of schools are closed too. Planes and trains are not working.

The weather has traveled from Siberia. Siberia is in Russia. Next week should get warmer.
