Level 2

A Nigerian man decided he wanted to get married. He posted on Facebook asking if anyone was interested in being his wife. He said he would now be accepting applications for a spouse. In the post he added, “Am of age to and I am ready to say I do and am wasting no time.” The applications had to be submitted by midnight. A few women wrote to him but one woman got his attention.

Two days later, he traveled 500km to visit the woman in her home town. She lived in a northern city of Nigeria. She met him in front of a retail store and said, “It was love at first sight.”

They talked for two hours. Then, they went to meet the man’s uncle who lived in the same town. He gave his approval. They also met the woman’s family. The woman was worried her family would not approve because she met him on Facebook. This was not a problem. Both families were fond of the couple.

The new couple got married 6 days later. A few people were skeptical of the marriage but mostly, they got a lot of support.
